Staff Accountant/Accounting clerk with skills: Accounts Payable (AP), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger Opening

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Staff Accountant/Accounting Clerk to support our financial department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling key accounting tasks such as Accounts Payable (AP), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger maintenance. This position is ideal for someone seeking flexible hours while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable (AP):
  • Process and review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendors, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain vendor files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded and any discrepancies are resolved.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items, ensuring they are properly documented.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:
  • Post journal entries for accrued expenses and revenue.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end close procedures, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected in the General Ledger.
  • Review General Ledger accounts for accuracy and prepare adjusting entries as necessary.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain and update accounting records, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed, including filing, data entry, and report generation.

Accounts Payable (AP), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger required.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Multi-entity Bookkeeping
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
