Senior Project Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $130,000 maximum

 

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer who will be managing a state-wide team of Designers, Engineers, and Estimators. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for $100M+ in capital projects including designing and permitting for the main water replacement program. The Senior Project Engineer will be required to build and maintain relationships with operation managers, construction managers, local officials, and other external parties.

Main Duties as Senior Project Engineer:

1. Manage teams to plan and execute statewide linear and vertical water and wastewater projects. These projects include rehabilitation of existing facilities and development of new facilities consisting of valve vaults, water treatment plants, sewers, chemical feed systems, and more.
2. Manage pipe capital planning and execution to meet Texas quarterly DSIC with precision.
3. Manage the estimating team to ensure cost is as accurate and possible.
4. Oversee prep of contract bid documents and plans, as well as coordinating with Planning & Engineering, Construction, and Operations.
5. Assist in the development of annual capital improvement plans that prioritize capital projects.
6. Direct the preparation of permits applications for the construction of capital projects. This will involve meetings with local officials.
7. Utilize the company’s financial information system for project authorization, tracking, and cost projection.

Necessary qualifications to be considered for the position:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or environmental
2. Minimum of 5-8 years in engineer in water/wastewater
3. PE License in the State of Texas
4. Must have exceptional communication skills
