Position Overview

The Operations Intern will have the opportunity to learn all areas of port agency operations. From ensuring our clients’ vessels have smooth turnarounds in accordance with our clients’ interest, governmental regulations, and Moran’s own operational standards, to coordinating with government and port officials and the vessel itself to set berthing arrangements for each vessel, this position provides candidates with valuable first-hand experience. You will also gain exposure to the data collection, invoice processing, and billing requirements associated with each port call. You will work closely with the team of agents in your office and contribute directly to the success of Moran while also gaining valuable, first-hand experience in the Maritime Industry with a premier provider of shipping transportation services.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college
• Must have ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Position will require some local travel and boarding vessels. Must be able to climb ladders and navigate gangways on vessels – sometimes at steep angles.
• Ability to work part or full time for the entire duration of the Internship, depending on your school program
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
