Job Description
The Dual BH Specialist R works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing intensive case management and integrated dual diagnosis treatment. The team works to address all treatment needs including, crisis management, substance abuse treatment, medication management, physical health treatment, mental health treatment, accessing benefits and entitlements, accessing appropriate and affordable housing, and accessing employment and educational opportunities. This position has access to mental health billing and service records.
Central City Concern is seeking a Dual Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team!
Hourly Wage Starting at $23.58
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field OR 3 years relevant work experience specializing in chemical dependency and mental health treatment.
Must be registered with MHACBO as a QMHA-R.
CADC-R certification, at minimum, required.
Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
Must have current CPR certification prior to start date.
Has the competencies necessary to:
Communicate effectively
Perform drug and alcohol assessments and develop service plans based on ASAM criteria
Understand treatment and service terminology and able to apply the concepts
Provide psychosocial skills development, psycho education, and assist with mental health assessment
Implement interventions prescribed on a service plan.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.

An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
The OAR prohibits A&D program staff from having within the previous 3 years a DUI conviction or diversion, a felony conviction, or a conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull, and lift heavy objects. Must be able to climb stairs several times a day.
Will be required to carry an agency cell phone for work use. Cell phone will be provided by Central City Concern.
If using a vehicle for agency use, must possess a current driver’s license, access to a vehicle, qualify as an Acceptable Driver as designated in Central City Concern’s Fleet Safety policy. Must pass an initial drivers training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training. Must maintain vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 personal auto liability coverage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collect information regarding clients’ history through a combination of interviewing, records review, and consultation, after obtaining written consent.
Develop strengths-based treatment plan with client.
Participate in clinical staff meetings and case conferences with team members in order to utilize interdisciplinary expertise and facilitate individual service plans for clients.
Provide crisis stabilization in a community setting.
Assess, triage and respond to psychiatric and substance abuse crisis in the community in the most effective, efficient, safe manner possible.
Perform risk assessments and evaluate level of care needs.
Monitor and assure that the health and safety needs of clients are met.
Quickly and accurately assess the needs of individual clients and potential barriers to service.
Utilize Evidence-based Practices in work with clients in individual and group formats.
Utilize Motivational Interviewing and IDDT treatment modalities to identify stages of change and develop corresponding stage wise treatment strategies.
Maintain client records as required by State, Federal, local and program standards and funding requirements.
Works within scope of training and experience and seeks consultation when appropriate.
Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
Participate in Outreach activities necessary to offer services and engage participation in a non-coercive manner. Escort clients to meetings and appointments as necessary. Conduct education and support groups for clients, using approved curriculum.
Collaborate with Residential facilities, Adult Foster homes or other housing providers to provide necessary case management services and coordinate residential and non-residential treatment and service planning.
Participate in admission and discharge planning for any client needing hospitalization or subacute level of care. Client contact must be made within one working day of admission.
Provide testimony and advocacy with courts and other agencies.
Coordinate services with all members of client’s support network.
Participate in training opportunities to advance skills and knowledge in addictions and mental health.
Perform other duties as assigned.
