Our Washington, D.C. office is looking for a Director of Prospect Research.This role will oversee the organization's donor prospect research program.The Director is responsible for developing and managing the organization's prospect research, tracking, pipeline, and other prospect management systems.In addition, the Director will conduct extensive qualitative and quantitative research and deliver actionable reports and insights to front-line development staff to support their donor acquisition efforts, working collaboratively with regional managers to ensure research efforts are aligned with the organization's development priorities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Conduct research on prospective major donors and provide information to front-line development staff, including the donor's wealth, philanthropic interests, giving history, and relationship mapping/sphere of influence.
- Provide actionable insights and detailed research reports to front-line development staff to enhance their donor acquisition efforts.
- Analyze and synthesize data to identify patterns and trends that can inform fundraising strategies.
- Prioritize and oversee the workflow of research projects.
- Maintain and manage the prospect management and tracking systems across the organization's CRM and engagement platforms.
- Work collaboratively with the development team to develop and implement strategies for engaging with potential major donors, including identifying appropriate cultivation and solicitation opportunities.
- Keep abreast of trends and best practices in major gifts fundraising and prospect research and conduct regular evaluations of internal prospect management/research programs, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all research activities.
Qualifications & Skills: - At least five years of experience in prospect research or related field.
- Prior supervisory experience managing a team, ideally in prospect research.
- Project management experience in the field of prospect research is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with experience using various research tools and databases, such as Donor Search, Wealth-X, iWave, Wealth Engine, RelSci.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Curious, self-motivated, and eager to be challenged with complex research projects.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into concise, actionable reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the pro-Israel community and its philanthropic and political activities is a plus.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices, particularly in major gifts fundraising.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
AIPAC is offering a competitive market base salary for the position between $122,000.00 and $155,000.00.A job offer within the range will depend on how closely a candidate's skills and experience match the requirements for the role. AIPAC also offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that contributes to employees' overall total compensation package.We are currently working remotely two days a week and in our offices the other three.AIPAC is an equal-opportunity employer.
