Bookkeeper

Location: Wethersfield, CT

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our clients day-to-day financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the retail industry, with a solid understanding of general accounting practices and the ability to work with various accounting software.

Key Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper:

• Accounts Receivable & Payable:

  • Process customer payments and manage accounts receivable balances.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices and ensure timely payment of accounts payable.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and prepare financial statements.

• Bank Reconciliations:

  • Reconcile bank statements with company records on a monthly basis.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

• General Ledger:

  • Post and reconcile daily sales, expenses, and other general ledger entries.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and preparation of financial reports.

Bookkeeper Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the retail industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• A Bookkeeper certification is a plus.
